We Do! All The First Dance Songs for 2017’s Biggest Celebrity Weddings So Far
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd (July 8)
Picking the first dance for a wedding is a major decision, and since readers loved our first take on this story, we decided to serve up a second helping.
Here are the first-dance songs for celebrity weddings in 2017 — so far. While classics are always in style, we love the outside-the-box choices even more.
With so many dance pros invited to the “Dancing with the Stars” fairytale affair, the first dance could have been an over-the-top bonanza. But Maks and Peta went with a simple slow dance set to an acoustic cover of Rihanna’s “We Found Love” performed by Tyler Ward ft. Jess Moskaluke.
Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich (July 8)
“Dancing with the Stars” judge and actress Julianne Hough married NHL star Brooks Laich on the very same day as Maks and Peta. They chose the very romantic “All This Time” by OneRepublic for their first dance.
Tara Lipinski and Todd Kapostasy (June 24)
Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinsky and sports producer Todd Kapostasy danced their first dance to “Everywhere” by William Fitzsimmons.
Lipinsky chose to have a bridesman instead of bridesmaid, her NBC figure skating commentator colleague, two-time Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir. She surprised him by playing his favorite Lady Gaga song, “Bad Romance” for his walk down the aisle. This GIF is of the “work couple” on the dance floor during the reception.
MC Lyte and John Wyche (August 12)
Luther Vandross’ classic ballad “Here and Now” sealed the bond for rap pioneer and Hip-Hop Sisters Foundation founder “MC Lyte” Moorer and Marine Corp Veteran and entrepreneur John Wyche.
Molly Tarlov and Alexander Noyes (March 4)
It wasn’t “Awkward” for the MTV actress Molly Tarlov when she had her first dance with drummer Alexander Noyes. They were right at home with the song “This Will Be Our Year,” by the Zombies.
Nev Schulman and Laura Perlongo (July 22)
There must be something un-dead in the water at MTV. “Catfish” star Nev Schulman chose another Zombies song, “Can’t Nobody Love You” for his first dance with bride Laura Perlongo.
Ali Fedotowsky and Kevin Manno (March 3)
Ali Fedotowsky was a “Bachelorette” no more after marrying Kevin Manno. The couple selected “Beside You” by Marianas Trench for their first dance.
Lauren Morelli and Samira Wiley (March 25)
The “Orange is the New Black” star and producer/writer’s first dance was smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy. Yep, “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars.
Deadmau5 and Kelly Fedoni (August 12)
Radiohead’s “All I Need” was DJ Deadmau5 and wife Kelly Fedoni’s song choice.
Molly Roloff and Joel Silvius (August 5)
Nothing says love more than “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. It was the first dance choice for former “Little People, Big World” star Molly Tarlov and Joel Silvius.
Juan Pablo Galavis and Osmariel Villalobos (August 6)
Danny Ocean, singer and producer of the viral Spanish-language song “Me Rehuso” chose his own song for the first dance song after wedding Venezuelan model and TV host Osmariel Villalobos.
Brittany Daniel and Adam Touni (July 29)
“Sweet Valley High” star Brittany Daniel and her groom Adam Touni did something special for their first dance. A run of the mill slow dance erupted into a full-fledged, elaborate dance battle! Brittany called it “West Side Story meets White Chicks.” Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty” was a highlight.
Kenya Moore and Marc Daly (June 10)
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore chose “They Don’t Know” by Jon B. for the couple’s first dance, because Marc Daly saw the real her instead of her reality show caricature.
Nicole Williams and Larry English (May 19)
“WAGS L.A.” star Nicole Williams and former football player Larry English had their first dance to “Can You Stand The Rain” by New Edition.
Carlson Young and Isom Innis (April 29)
What a classic! The MTV “Scream” star and “Foster the People” member dazzled their guests dancing to The Beatles’ “‘Till There Was You.”
