Fans of the TV show “Friends” will recall that siblings Monica and Ross had a dance routine, creatively dubbed “The Routine.” They created it as kids, for awkward situations like the middle school dance. Years later as adults, while on a dance TV show trying to get on camera, they thought “The Routine” would catch the eye of the producers.
Of course, the hilarious scene resonates in fans’ memories, mostly because it backfired. Now, one real-life couple brushed the routine off and found a new use for it.
Two parents in the UK learned all the moves from “The Routine” — including the leap frog jump and lift at the end — and performed it at their son’s wedding. They even danced to the song from the show, Loreta’s “Trouble With Boys,” and got big cheers from the crowd.
But unlike Ross and Monica, they were a hit.
